Nykyain

A quick sketch of my character Nyktain, the Nostalgia Virus Demon. This is what he looks like without any bone protruding from his skin. His wings are not usually present, but because I'm going to be using him in a RP about fallen angels, I figured that they should be there. The bones in the wings are made from Nyktain's lower ribcage, and the skin is his own, stretched far past it's limits. His skin is the colour of dead flesh, and has a greenish tinge around the areas that parts of bone often protrude from. When he speaks, it sounds like an intake of a raspy breath; when he laughs, it it a guteral 'k-k-k-k-k-k-' sound. He always walks on the balls of his feet, whether he is in his own body or not. He walks at a slow swagger, and his movements are often slow and somber; however, he is also very erratic, and can move sharply when provoked or intending to intimidate.

His iris is a sickening green and the whites of his eyes are a bright red -- the colour of fresh blood. His Virus can exit his body at will, bursting off like spores from a fungus. Nyktain is the cause behind why people long to go back and correct past mistakes; he is the guilt, the hindsight, the longing for the past that can never be again; the watcher of a sad, somber nostalgia. The Nostalgia Virus traps a person's mind in this mindset and renders their body immobile; their mind trapped in the deadly cycle of reliving the unchangeable mistakes over and over, while building up the painful feelings of regret until it destroys the soul. The iris becomes misshapen, and takes on the hue of a jade green, the whites redden, and the tear ducts fill with blood. If the soul-shattering mental attack of the virus doesn't kill you, the slow, inevitable blood loss and paralysis will.
