Wow, it's been a while since I've posted anything here. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about dA, I just haven't had a shoot of a new costume in a while.
Anyway, this tutorial has been a long time coming. Raiden is a favourite character of mine, and seeing so many cosplayers execute this simple makeup poorly kinda grinds my gears (no pun intended.) So I decided the time had finally come to share an easy and effective way to do more realistic scarring for Raiden than what I've seen by many in the past.
Note: This is a very forgiving makeup tutorial, and can be done effectively by beginners. If you mess up on drawing your pencil-thin lines, you can always go back a step and smudge them out, then try again.
Protip: Do not use black, do not use gray, do not use red for your scarring lines. In that vein, please also refrain from using liquid or gel liners for this tutorial, either. You need your product to be able to smudge to get the right effect.

Hoooo, interesting observation about the scarlines being different on his face between MGS4 and MGR! I didn't notice it before, though did feel that something else feels different (aside from the whole different hair and eye patch and different body and... well.. >_> )
